 Sshhh… Silence!


Gently opening my eyes

To the dawn’s first light.

Birds in conversation

Humming tunes in shrill tones

And arguments in loud chirps 

Resembling a cacophony.


A slow breeze 

Moving leaves

Cooling and dipping down the heat.

And the hustling wind

Rattling branches and shaking leaves.


The peacefully flowing,

Gurgling stream.

The calm waves,

Caressing feet.

Plunging waves and furious river 

Leaving no sand unturned.


The light rhythmic droplets

Tapping on leaves and grass.

And the pouring rain accompanied by

Roaring thunder and flashing lights

Washing away worries for some

Yet shattering dreams for another.


The scribbling sound on paper

While struggling

To put into words, the emotions

What your heart whispers.

Strokes of brushes 

While painting out the scenes 

From your mind.


As the world rests

In the nights deepest depths

Sshhh….

Silence lets you listen to the world.

As the eyes doze off slowly

Listen to the breathing 

The ticking tender heartbeat

Sshhh….

Silence lets you listen to your heart.

The muted tones

Of your thoughts and emotions..

Silence… a language so pure

Even without a sound…
