Senses and elements

Senses and elements

Rumbling is the sea

As waves touch and leave

Gentle and balmy

Furious and frothy

Splashing and drenching

Dipping and dripping

Swathed in water and sand

Sporadically tasting the water so salty

Recollecting the burning sensation

Of salt over wound.

Scorching hot is the sun

That lit a wildfire

Lives searching for shelter

So blistering it is

That you start running

Helter-skelter

In search of shelter

Mild and glaring

Harsh and molten

Pale and splendid

Shining all the way till dusk.

Hustling is the wind

Ushering smells from elsewhere

Familiar and strange

Stinking and aromatic

But taken away by the breeze.

Chimes of the earth

Created by solid, liquid, gas and plasma

Standing flabbergasted to diverse sounds

Faint and penetrating

Clamorous and melodious

Discordant and musical

Dull and fading with distance.

Starstruck by earth’s artistry

The sky so blue

View from the space above

A sight so transfixing

What an amalgamation of senses and elements…
