Leaves

Leaves

Have been seeing you

For quite some time

Don’t know the exact time

Born of the same tree

Yet different in shape and age.

Growing up together

Having deep conversations

Swaying in the breeze

Nodding in unison

In agreement to some conversation

And sometimes swaying so arrhythmic

Exchanging occasional blows

Showing discontent

For reasons unknown.

Getting boozed after torrential rains

Drenched so much,

Some rain drops, like music

And some like noise

But enjoying every bit of it

The ecstasy so lethargic

Of happiness overdose

A lull of calm sweeps in

As the cold atmosphere sets in

Nights so long

Drowsing till dawn...

The sun rays still

A welcoming of homecoming

Resuming daily chores

Of unending duties

Breathing and helping others breathe

Growing old together

Holding its pleasure

Colour fades

Energy recedes

Crippling and eroding

Waiting for the fall.

Snap!!

When leaves leave

Dangling for a while

Twisting, turning and swirling

Descending, flying and swaying

Finally reclining on the ground

Watching the sun, moon and the stars

Blurring vision

Clouds moving

Like time lapse photography

Microbes feeding

Withering away

And metamorphosed

Beyond recognition

Happily cwtched to the earth’s bosom…
