My Unfamiliar Journey (the journey of a rain-drop)
Oh! From heaven I descended,
Set foot on an alien land,
A prolonged struggle set in
For familiarity in a strange new world,
I came to terms with the virgin habitat.
My journey commenced,
For perfection in an imperfect world,
Vague future beckoned me,
The call, how irresistible,
Signalled by the enticing beauty of a thousand rainbows.
Uncertainty enveloped me,
Vacancy absorbed the space within me,
I was man-led apart by indecision,
To choose between the native land and alien shore,
I pulled myself together.
I succumbed to the murmur of my soul,
Streams of thought surveyed my past,
I longed for the stolen solitude,
Which I often casually cast away,
I felt pacified and delighted.
I responded to the call of fate,
It strengthened my attachment and faith,
Rejuvenated once more by a meaningful travel,
It dispelled the gloom of doubt,
Little knowing ‘tis the gateway to the Great being.
Enlightening us all along,
On our onward march to eternity,
Breaking loose, the mystery of doubt,
Provides us a safe ‘go back’,
At last to the celestial abode,
From where I came.
